Graduated with an LLB (Hons.) Degree from the University of London in 1972 and admitted as Barrister at Law (Gray’s Inn) in 1980. In 1994 Puan Sri Rusila was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. In 2004, Puan Sri Rusila was conferred the Master of Laws (Maritime) from the University of London. Puan Sri Rusila had previously served as a lecturer in ITM (now UiTM), Legal Officer in (the then) Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad as well as in various capacities in the ICI Group of Companies in Malaysia which she joined in 1978. From 1988 to 1994 she held the position of Group Secretary and General Manager Legal Affairs serving the Asia-Pacific Region of ICI Group of Companies.

 

Puan Sri Rusila has previously served as Chairman (Technical Working Group) of the Federation of Public Listed Companies (FPLC), President of Persatuan Wanita UiTM (PEWANI), Legal Advisor of Graduate Women’s Association and Reviewer of the ICSA Corporate Law examination conducted by MAICSA.

 

Puan Sri Rusila presently holds the position of Senior Consultant of Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group (MSWG) and is also an elected Executive Committee Member of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association of Malaysia.

 

In recognition of her expertise and experience Puan Sri Rusila has chaired several workshops and seminars organized by the FPLC, the Federation of Malaysia Manufacturers as well as presented Seminar Papers locally and internationally. She is married to Academician Tan Sri (Dr.) Ir. Haji Ahmad Zaidee Bin Laidin and has four children.
